Mubarak, along with his minister of Interior received life sentences last June, but a retrial was set after both the prosecution and defense appealed the sentence. Families of those who were killed were present outside the courthouse to call for justice.

Protesters have also slammed the policies of the incumbent President Mohamed Morsi. The marches were organized by the April 6 Youth Movement who take their name after the events of 2008 when the workers of the industrial city of Mahalla stood against the former regime. Many believe that Mahalla strike was one of the events which sparked the popular revolution of 2011. Other opposition groups such as the Free Egyptians and Revolutionary Socialist Parties as well as the Free Front for Peaceful Change joined the protests against the failure of the current administration to meet the demands of the Revolution.

Images and videos from the scene last Saturday showed Brotherhood members assaulting activists and journalists. These images caused uproar, especially among journalists who say that they were only present to cover the events, and were playing no political role. On Wednesday, hundreds of journalists and prominent politicians staged a vigil outside the Journalists Syndicate to denounce attacks on peers near the Muslim Brotherhood headquarters last Saturday. Mahmoud Hussein, a senior member of the Muslim Brotherhood told journalists that the organization is willing to hand over members to authorities for questioning over the events.

This was the main outcome deduced by international strategic analysts and other participants who gathered in the Lebanese Capital Beirut to discuss the consequences of the Saudi invasion for the political and Human Rights situation in Bahrain.

In a move aimed at crushing the peaceful demonstrations ; thousands of troops were led by the Saudi government into Bahrain across the King Fahad causeway binding the two monarchies.

Moreover, analysts labeled as "disgrace" the U.K. and U.S. administrations' breaking International laws by providing arms to a regime oppressing its civilian population mindful of the Human Rights violations and abuses going on.

The prisoners are detained on charges related to the violence at Port Said stadium in February 2012, when over 70 football club fans were killed. To denounce the heavy handed tactics of the ministry of interior, protesters in Cairo held a demo to call for the dismissal of the minister of interior and to call for retribution to all those who were killed since the second anniversary of the Egyptian Revolution.

In essence, protesters accused President Mohammed Morsi of betraying the revolution as they also called for amendments to the constitution and a national unity government. On another front, prominent opposition leader Mohammed el Baradie stated on his twitter account that the current situation in the country is a recipe for disaster. Thousands of Port Said residents have been conducting a campaign of civil disobedience during the past two weeks to protest marginalization policies at the hands of the central government and to demand justice for those killed in recent clashes.

On Friday, police fired tear gas to disperse the protesters, who were trying to break through a security cordon around Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan's office in the capital, the Associated Press reported.

The demonstrators were holding banners reading "Kerry get out" and condemned the "imperialist powers" for waging wars against countries.

The comments came after Saudi security forces arrested over 300 people in the central province of Qassim after hundreds of Saudis staged a protest sit-in to demand the release of political prisoners. The protest gathering was held outside the investigation and prosecution bureau in the town of Buraidah on Friday.

Press TV has conducted an interview with Ali al-Ahmed, Director of the IGA, to further discuss the issue.

What does this new constitution mean for the average Egyptian? The Muslim Brotherhood and their supporters branded the opposition as enemies of the revolution that toppled longtime dictator Hosni Mubarak in 2011.

On this week's INFocus we go to the two camps in Tahrir Square to meet anti-Morsi demonstrators including: the National Rescue Front, a coalition of opponents led by dissident former UN nuclear watchdog chief Mohamed ElBaradei, ex-Arab League chief Amr Mussa and former presidential candidate Hamdeen Sabbahi.

To mark the anniversary, opposition forces called for organized marches and protests across Cairo as well as in several other cities.

Demonstrators in Cairo marched on the Al Ithadiya Presidential Palace. They chanted anti-Morsi and anti-Muslim Brotherhood slogans, calling for the president to either yield to the will of the people or step down as Mubarak did 2 years ago.

Clashes erupted outside the palace between security forces and protestors and water canons and tear gas were used to disperse the crowds.

At a news conference, the head of High Electoral Commission, Samir Abul Maaty, said that 63-point-eight-percent of Egyptians have voted "YES" to the new constitution. He said a total of 32-point-nine-percent of eligible voters participated in the referendum.

With the announcement of the results, Egypt's first constitution goes into effect following a revolution that ousted former dictator Hosni Mubarak. But the opposition says the constitution does not meet the demands of the Egyptian people.

Discussions mainly focused on the means of implementing a peaceful solution to the Syrian unrest. The meeting was of great significance following Brahimi's meetings with Russian and American officials.

President Assad reiterated the Syrian government's interest in welcoming any political effort for the benefit of the Syrian people. He said such plans must respect Syria's sovereignty and independence.

Similar protests were held elsewhere in the country.

Protesters blamed the Muslim Brotherhood Party saying that the first stage of the referendum was rigged in a move which they contend that it signals Morsi's power grab and constitution push.

Unofficial tallies showed that voters who participated in the first stage are narrowly in favor of the disputed constitution.

http://www.amwalalghad.com/en/videos/viewvideo/797/all-videos/cold-killing-young-syrian-refugees.html

http://www.euronews.com/ Three Syrian refugee children who died of cold in the Zaatari camp in Jordan were buried on Monday, in the border town of Ramtha.

The charity Save the Children is trying to raise money to equip families in Zaatari for the hard winter months ahead. Many arrived when it was warm. Most of the 41,000 Syrians in the camp are under 18.

Some 127,000 Syrians seeking safety in Lebanon improvise shelter as best they can, not even in camps. More than three times that number of refugees are registered in the countries neighbouring Syria.

Ahmed and his family have made a temporary home in a stable which is normally for sheep. In summer the problem was snakes.

The father said: "My boy asked me for shoes but I don't have any money so he's just keeping his old ones."

An unfinished house provides shelter for Nadia, 30, who has four young children, the smallest girl just five months old. They fled Syria for northern Lebanon after a bomb destroyed the house just next to theirs, eight months ago. All of them have coughs.

"It's cold," said Nadia. "We're hungry, we don't have blankets, and we're afraid what the winter will be like."

In a shanty town in the Bekaa Valley, 50 kilometres from the border with Syria, there's eight-year-old Ines, with her mother and brothers. They've built what they could, but it doesn't stop the rain from getting in.

Ines said: "We're always cold. We stay near the fire, but my brothers are always cold. It's hard going anywhere because of the mud - even out to buy bread."

The UNHCR said care for Syria's refugees will cost at least 200 million euros this winter - money that hasn't been raised yet - risking more funerals for those vulnerable to exposure and nowhere else to go.

http://www.amwalalghad.com/en/videos/viewvideo/796/all-videos/spanish-jobless-total-nears-5-million.html

http://www.euronews.com/ A new record for unemployment in Spain.

The number of people officially registered as without a job is closing in on five million as the country's recession continues unabated.

The unemployment rate - which is released separately every quarter - stood at 25 percent of the workforce at the end of September, with over half of all young people out of work.

From October to November, the number of people claiming unemployment benefit rose by 74,296, a one and a half percent increase, to 4.9 million.

Luis Fernandez, 31, who recently lost his job, said: "If I can not find anything I'll just leave the country, that's it. It is the quickest and most immediate solution: trying my luck elsewhere, obviously not here."

November saw the fourth straight monthly rise in the number of people registered as unemployed in Spain.

And Spaniards are increasingly cynical about promises from politicians like Labour Minister Fatima Bàñez who said: "Certainly it's a bad rate. The joblessness total continues to rise. But we are working to change this, to turn this situation around. To win over unemployment, to restrain the crisis."

The high jobless rate deters consumers from spending pushing the country deeper into a recession made worse by billions in tax hikes and government spending cuts.
